Spring Has Sprung!
Well, we had 80 degree weather today in Maine! It is so hard to imagine this since we usually have a lot of snow on the ground this time of year...so, out and about taking in the sun and the sights.

What a Nice Gesture
- I have been awarded the Liebster Award, from my friend Donna over at Little Cottage in the Country last week! What an honor...I will be passing it on to 5 bloggers with less than 200 followers so they can keep this award going!
- Liebster means beloved or favorite in German, and the purpose of the award is to show appreciation to smaller blogs. I am so thrilled with this award and thank you Donna for the nomination....your a sweetheart :)

Life's a Dance
Dance- the grace of movement, is truly fleeting, and thus its beauty is ever the more relevant in the obvious metaphor of the impermanence of all things. I have traveled the globe a bit and I can only say that the more I learn about the world and myself, the less, I realize, I know. This world is more vast that even the wildest of our imagination. I have also tried on many ways of living from a very traditional city life to camping, school bus style, out in the woods without electricity or running water. But, what I value most about some of these experiences are the opportunities I have been given to see the world through various different lenses and recognize that we are not limited by creativity or possibility, only our willingness to engage the world fully.

Soft Evening Rain
We had some much needed, and welcomed rain tonight. It has cooled off considerably from the hot humid weather of this past weekend, and the garden has soaked up all the lovely water! Soon I will be picking some of the tomatoes and zucchini which will go into salads and bread!

Beautiful Summer Evening
Well, we had a very hot and humid weekend...but we survived and had a successful yard sale to boot! This evening is nice and cool now, fireflies everywhere with rain on the way for the next two days. I have made lots of lemonade and ice tea this weekend, and enjoyed visiting with friends and neighbors. Have a wonderful Monday everyone..Smiles :)

Feel More...Think Less
Whether you believe in intuition, prophetic dreams, and many other senses of awareness, I believe it is all guided for our benefit. Some of us can experience the sensation of a scent and feel moved to do something specific - a scent can be that of a departed loved one and it moves us to look somewhere for an item we thought had been misplaced and there it is. Some of us feel a touch on our skin and are instantly brought back to a moment where we remember a bit of information that is necessary. And some people see angels.
Personally, I have had more than several occurrences of being guided by something other than my own consciousness. I choose to label it as little as possible since I believe strongly that while I love words and language, I do think that we tend to box ourselves into specific belief systems based on words, on labels and judgments and that what we need to do is feel more and sometimes think less. Otherwise, we run the risk of forgetting that we are here - to experience human life and all that it offers us. Smiles...

Life's Goodness
For me, cooking is an experience of sensuality, inhaling fresh scents, rubbing leaves between my fingers to bring out their natural oils, chopping onions and garlic with precision and stirring and guiding the ingredients with a sense of awareness and respect for each ingredient. It is a meditation of sorts.
Simple pleasures....it is my garden. For me, this is an experiment in patience, a tribute to my family, and a choice to continue to approach life in a simple manner. I am extravagant in some areas; my hair, my health and that of my children, and the books and food I consume are my vanities, places where I spare no expense because the reward of each is so immense.
I grow Roma tomato plants for sauce, and Beefsteak for salads, and I chronicle their growth just as I did my children. My garden is completed with leaf lettuce, cucumbers, zucchini, and scallions. Have you ever pulled young scallions from the fresh earth, rinsed them in cool running water, then smelled their sweetness, and put them between fresh French bread slices with a smear of butter and a bit of cracked sea salt? Heaven bursting in your mouth, fresh and perfect like the sun, earth and water that nurtures us all.
How Illuminating!
As a general inclination, I have made efforts toward cultivating an active meditation practice. The going is sometimes tough on the path toward enlightenment and at times, not so illuminating…yet there is light even in the dark. On the whole my values reflect a more holistic minded way of living, such as sustainable economy, living simply, do unto others… Like others out there, I am doing my best to make my small corner of this earth a more beautiful and nourishing place to call home. Smiles....
Oh How Sweet It Is
What I once thought was a scattered and disorganized approach to life, turns out to be the life of a great wanderer, and loving human being. That is what I am. I write, paint, grow things, cook, and love my family. I change my mind - often. I have learned to commit to changing my mind and that makes me happy.
The beauty in the ordinary has finally reached me. The past few years have convinced me that I have nothing else to prove, nothing to convince anyone of, and I can finally, truly, live the rest of this journey for myself, while taking care of the people and things I love. Dues paid, regrets reconciled, and the true meaning of love embraced, I haven't a clue as to what comes next. I think I like that.
